May 6, 2010: Siding, Drywall
Lots of siding and drywall activity. It’s amazing how much more finished the house is starting to look with exterior siding and enclosing interior walls with drywall. The look of the rooms really changes when you can no longer see through the stud walls.
Close up of the dark trim above and below the windows. All of the windows on the lower level are the same height, so this trim will run around the entire house.
Here is the siding completed on the main South side.
The drywallers have started hanging drywall and they don’t waste any time. After about two days they are about halfway done hanging and next week they should start taping and applying compound.
These first pictures are of the main living room area.

We had a Mechanical Engineering class from Illinois come for a tour yesterday.
