May 28, 2010: Siding, Completed Drywall
Siding is almost complete as is the drywall.
A few more pieces of siding were put on order to finish up the back wall and clerestory. Inside, the drywallers are applying a finish coat and should be done tomorrow. Paint color and bathroom tile selections have been made, so painting can start Tuesday or Wednesday.
The siding complete on the West side of the house. The clerestory has been started. You can see the darker trim pattern above and below the window.
These two pictures show how the shadow moves on the house with the roof overhang. It is a kind of a sun dial. We plan to put some type of trim on the walls to mark the solstices and equinox.
The kitchen cabinetry has also been selected and I will post renderings of the design soon. It is Demode by Valcucine. It is an Italian brand focusing on high quality and functionality with ergonomics and low environmental impact a part of the design.
