Thanksgiving was successfully hosted at Equinox House!
Nov 15, 2010: Counter Tops
The counters were installed today. They will be back in the morning to do some final touches, but it’s pretty much done. Plumbers will be in on Wed to make sink connections and do rainwater connection for toilet supply.
Nov 8, 2010: More Kitchen, Solar Update; 10,000 kW-hr!
We’ve progressed a bit more on the kitchen. The double oven and vent hood have been installed. This Friday or next Monday the granite counter and sink will be installed.
Nov 1, 2010: Kitchen Cabinets
Kitchen cabinet installation was completed on Friday.
Oct 29, 2010: Kitchen!
The kitchen cabinetry finally arrived yesterday. Installation should finish today.

First, we would like to thank everyone who toured the house on either the Eco Bike Tour or the Illinois Solar Tour. We had a great turnout for each event and enjoyed showing the house and answering questions.

Sep 21, 2010: Garden, Eco Bike Tour
This Saturday is a bike ride around Champaign-Urbana to showcase some environmentally conscious sites around town. It is an 18 mile loop at your own pace. Equinox House will be on the tour and open to view from 11am to 1pm.
Sep 1, 2010: Landscaping, Rain Garden
Now that almost all of the interior work is complete (waiting on kitchen cabinet delivery third week of Sep) and the summer is cooling off, we are trying to get the landscaping established.
Aug 26, 2010: CERV, yard shaping
The final electrical inspection was successful on Tuesday. They want to come back when the kitchen is installed, but other than that, electrically the house is finished.
Aug 10, 2010: Trim and Doors
We’ve been gone for the past week, but in that time the contractor has finished up most of the interior wood trim. There’s still a little left to do and some staining, but for the most part the trim is complete.
Jul 21, 2010: Rainwater System, Trim
Electrical is just about finished. Wires and conduit have been run to the sub combination panel and the new main computerized panel.

Jun 30, 2010: Computerized Breaker Panel
Today the temporary breaker panel was removed and replaced with the computerized one. This will allow us to monitor and control the house electrical circuits by computer.
June 25, 2010: Tile, Rainwater
The tile is just about complete in both bathrooms.
Jun 22, 2010: Tiling, Concrete Floor
Tiling has started in the full guest bath as well. It is a gray large tile and two borders of 1″ x 2″ small glass tiles of shades of blueish gray.
Jun 17, 2010: Kitchen Design, Gable Home
Here are some additional kitchen renderings that show the entire area. I briefly mentioned before that it is the Demode line by Valcucine. Currently it is under construction in Italy and will be delivered in a few months.
Jun 15, 2010: Tiling, Trim, Doors
Tiling has started in the bathrooms.
Jun 10, 2010: Lighting, Plumbing
More lighting has been set up, along with the water meter and some toilets.
Jun 7, 2010: Painting, Siding
Painting was done over the end of last week and finished up today. The whole house was done in white for now using a zero VOC paint from Sherwin Williams.
May 28, 2010: Siding, Completed Drywall
Siding is almost complete as is the drywall.
May 19, 2010: Siding and Drywall Near Completion
Work continues to progress on the siding and drywall.
May 12, 2010: More Siding and Drywall
East side of the house has been sided and work is continuing on the back side. It’s been raining off and on, so if there is enough dry weather most of the siding should be installed by the end of this week.
